Ashford University Online Degrees
The Sisters of St. Frances in Clinton, Iowa founded Mount St. Clare College in 1918 (which is now Ashford University). The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools granted accreditation to MSC in 1950 and it has maintained that accreditation since that time. In 2005, the college was acquired by Brightpoint Education, Inc. and the name was changed to Ashford University. Ashford offers many programs either via campus based or online programs and degrees, including: public safety, criminal justice, public administration and political science. There are many things to consider before choosing an online program or college. The first and most important is accreditation, which we have already addresses. These courses allow a student to take only one course at a time, but complete it in just 5-6 weeks. Some students prefer this ability to focus on just one subject at a time rather than bouncing back and forth and they can still get the same amount of credit hours completed within the semester time frame by completing them one at a time. The online programs also afford the student flexibility that campus based courses cannot. The online student works on their studies when it is convenient for them.
